Course Description
Street-level narcotics work is fast-paced, high-risk, and demands a balance of investigative skill and tactical execution. This class is designed to give officers the tools and confidence needed to safely and effectively identify, disrupt, and dismantle drug activity in their communities. This course provides officers with practical instruction on every phase of a narcotics investigation. From equipment and developing confidential informants to conducting controlled purchases and location surveillance, participants will learn how to gather intelligence, establish probable cause, and identify targets. Instruction also covers search warrant execution, buy/bust operations, overdose investigations, and the responsibilities of supervisors in narcotics enforcement.
