Course Description

This course will be held at the Hobart outdoor range. 

 

The Patrol Pistol Course is geared for those who work uniformed patrol or traffic.  The goal of the course is to teach officers how to shoot, both faster and more accurately along with make quick accurate follow up shots under stress.  The course will cover equipment set up, weapon manipulation, drawing, reloads, low ready positions, injured hand drills, and malfunction clearances.

Instructor: Officer Deem started his career with Gary PD of which he worked for about 9 years.  He was assigned to the Patrol Division for the majority of his career and worked in Traffic for the last year and half on the department.  He also did time on Gary's SWAT Team.In April 2014, Officer Deem lateraled to Lake Station PD where he was assigned to Patrol. He was put on their SWAT team a short time after being hired where he worked his way to Assistant Team Leader.  When the team was disbanded, Officer Deem went to Northwest Regional SWAT where he works on an entry team and assists with training.Officer Deem has trained under the late Pat Rogers, Paul Howe, Pat McNamara, Steve Claggett, and Mike Pannone.  He brings his training and personal street experiences together to provide firearms, physical tactics, and tactical training for Lake Station PD and other agencies in the Region.
