Course Description

This course is designed to guide officers in off-duty survival and de-escalation/conflict resolution.

All officers when they are off-duty or out with their families will eventually run into people they have arrested in the past or criminals breaking the law right in front of them when they are off-duty.

Off-duty encounters can be tense, uncertain, rapidly evolving, dynamic, and fluid situations. Officers need to prepare themselves and their loved ones if they are to survive such an encounter.

This course will guide officers in the reasonable actions that should be taken before, during and after an off-duty encounter.

After completing this course, the officer will be able to:
- Explain the importance of survival
-Explain the use of Off-Duty tactics and strategies
-List the equipment you should have off duty
-Explain why your fighting and shooting skills set are important
-List the personality traits of individuals
-List The Five Truths
-Describe de-escalation tactics and strategies
-Describe how, when and who your back up is
-Explain how you S.O.P. and the Law will affect you
-List your legal responsibilities
-Describe how to make your home have a safe environment.
