Employees working in our Public Safety Awareness points are our law enforcement agencies' first line of defense. When the victim of domestic violence, a child witnessing a crime, or a third party calls 911 the dispatcher must be equipped to ask questions to assist the caller, direct people to safety and gather information to dispatch the call for service to officers and medical, if necessary. Attendees will be breifed on relevant case law concerning children who witness violence, removal of articles, excited utterances, and other crimes involving domestic violence.
